nvpGeneral Prayers

  • Ask God to release upon you the mantle of prayer. Let the spirit of intercession and supplications come upon you again. Ask Him to steer up a holy rebellion in your hearts tonight to contend with the spirits that have hindered you from praying
  • Isaiah 56:7; Colossians 4:2 – Pray again that the Holy Spirit shall indeed make us men and women of prayer, Christians who experience the grace and power of God through prayer. Men who influence their world and gain victory over kingdom of darkness through prayer. Ask Him to make you a strong Christian on your knees.
  • Exodus 33:13 – Pray for more grace upon your life. Ask God to show you His way, not his acts Psalm 103:7. That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection.
  • Pray for His will upon your life in the area of ministry, finance, marriage, health, your homes and families. Pray from 3 John vs 2 and Jeremiah 29:11.
  • Ask God to open your eyes to understand what His will for your life is and the grace to obey and to follow.
  • Ask Him to make you a sharp instrument – Isaiah 41:15. Ask him to use you as His battle axe – Jeremiah 51:20
  • It is God’s will for you to bear fruit and not to be barren – Exodus 23:26; Deuteronomy 28:1-14. Challenge every spirit of unfruitfulness and barrenness in your life by fire in Jesus name.
  • Tell God that your situation must change tonight.
  • Challenge every force of resistance and tell them “This thing proceedeth from the Lord and no one can change it” Gen 24:50
  • Say to the devil and his demonic structures that have hindered you “Hinder me not seeing the Lord has prospered my way” – Genesis 24:56

More Personal Prayers – Preparing yourself to be used by the LORD – Matthew 7:3-5; Philippians 4:8

  • Pray like this: Lord please show me day by day (open my eyes to) the things that are needful for me to know, or do in order to be drawn closer to you. NB: We cannot ask people to be closer to Him when we are far away from Him
  • Pray from Gal 5:15, 19-21 – Quickly identify the areas that affect you and ask the LORD to help you begin to deal with them. Say to the LORD, “I drop these at the feet of Calvary”. Reject, renounce, denounce and refuse their offer.
  • Pray like this: I stand on the finished work of Calvary as a priest and I ask that the fire of the Holy Ghost burn the activities of (mention them) in my life. Covenant with the LORD that you will never carry these loads anymore.
  • Begin to ask the LORD to replace vss 19-21 with 22-23.
  • Pray from Philippians 4:8 – that the LORD will fill your hearts and minds with things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good report and things that are of virtue.
  • Pray from Romans 15:13 – Ask Him to fill you up with joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Psalm 19:14 & 104:34 – Ask Him to fill your hearts with acceptable and sweet meditation of Him – His goodness, mercy, loving kindness, faithfulness, love, holiness, righteousness, power, purpose, person etc. See also 1 Tim 4:15
  • Pray from Psalm 119:97 – That His law shall be your meditation all day.
  • 1 Sam 3:21 & Philippians 3:10 – Ask for a revelational knowledge of the LORD by His word – that you will know Him in His power, person, purpose, love, holiness, righteousness and humility. Ask Him to teach you His word by the Holy Spirit and the zeal to always desire the sincere milk of the word – 1 Peter 2:2
  • Ezekiel 1:1-3; Matthew 3:16 & Acts 7:55-56 – Ask God for

– Open heavens – that the distance between you and Him will be minimal
– Visions of God – that you will begin to see Him as He is – in holiness, righteousness and not as ordinary man. That you will begin to see and experience His supernatural power.
– Express word of the LORD – that His word will come to you expressly every time.
– Hand of the LORD – that His mighty hand will come upon you (examples – Joseph, David, Elijah Jeremiah and Daniel etc) and that you will become as bold as a lion. When this happens, no man shall be able to stand before you Deuteronomy 2:25 & Joshua 1:5

  • Pray from Jeremiah 51:20-23 – That the LORD will use you as a battle axe and instrument of war to implement His righteousness and holiness in the lives of people around you.
  • That you will affect men and women by the Spirit of the LORD
  • Isaiah 41:15 – Ask the Lord to make you a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth this year. Ask Him to make you His battle axe to execute righteousness and justice. Ask Him to use you and His church to accomplish what He said in Isaiah 42:6-7.
  • Isaiah 42:16 – Ask Him to give you the grace and direction for what He expects from you as an individual in 2009.
  • Psalm 32:8 – Ask Him to give us the grace and direction for what He expects from us as a church in 2009.
  • Isaiah 43:4 – Ask Him to send committed and consistent men and women to this church that will help us to carry out the assignment for the sake of the kingdom.
  • Colossians 1:9-10 – Obedience to God’s word is fundamental to effective prayer, and there is no substitute to obedience. Ask the Lord to fill His children with the knowledge of His will and enable everyone to live a life that pleasing to Him in all things. Pray that God’s desire and purpose will become predominant in our prayer lives. Our prayers shall truly be for the extension of His kingdom on earth.

Threshing Floor – Place of Separation. Ruth 3: 2-3, 2 Samuel 6:6-7
NB: Threshing floor is a place of divine encounter with God (Bethel for Jacob – Genesis 28:16-19), place of prevailing with God, change of vision, character, name, your will and motive, starting newly with God.

  • Pray and ask God to bring you to the place of the threshing floor, a place where you will be separated for Him.
  • Pray that every time you appear before Him – either during the services or your private meeting with Him, that He will keep on doing the work of separation.

Tenacity / Perseverance to fight the good fight. Acts 10:38; 1 Corinthians 9:25, 15:58; Galatians 6:9; Philippians 3: 4-14; 2 Timothy 4:7-8 & Hebrews 10:36
NB: There is a promise (of His rest) that God has made. This promise is linked to our patience in service to Him. As we serve Him, there are things that could discourage (trials and tribulations, people despising you, rejections, lack etc), but we need patience.

  • Ask God to show you what your assignment is and the scope, so that at the end, you are able to say the words of Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
  • Ask God for a persevering and patient heart to continue the good work – His work, doing good to mankind, whether in your place of work, in your complex, to the body of Christ etc. It doesn’t matter what discouragement that the enemy brings your way.
  • We are not ignorant of the devices of the devil. Ask God for a discerning spirit to be able to identify which way the enemy is coming from and the way to deal with Him.
  • Ask Him to anoint you with the same anointing Jesus had that made Him to be doing good – Acts 10:38

Prayers for Closer to Jesus Ministries – Isaiah 2:2-3 & 62:6-7

  • Pray that CJM will indeed be established in the top of the mountains and be exalted above the hills.
  • Pray that the glory of the LORD will come upon this ministry, the pastors, the workers and all that have been called to this ministry. By the Spirit of the LORD, release men and women to come to our meeting this Sunday.
  • Pray that all races and nationalities will indeed flow into this ministry and will be taught the undiluted word of the LORD.
  • Pray that in this ministry, the LORD will be praised and glorified.
  • Pray that the word of the LORD will not be rare or scarce in CJM – 1 Samuel 3:1
  • Ask the LORD to send the right workers to us – Nehemiah 3 – Men like Eliashib, Hassenaah Meremoth, Jehoiada, Malchijah etc
